Namco announces Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament 2

Sony Computer Entertainment America and Namco announced development and release plans for Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament 2, Namco's next entry in the series. The game will feature licensed tournaments such as Wimbledon and licensed court studs such as Juan Carlos Ferrara, Serena Williams, and Lleyton Hewitt. A create-a-character mode will be in place for the game’s pro tour mode.

Gameplay options to be included provide four player play. Lesson mode will bring a number of tutorials, arcade mode will allow easy entry into big tournaments, exhibition mode serves a quick game mode, and watch mode lets two CPU players battle before the eyes of players. Challenge mode will consists of several different minigames to improve tennis stars’ skills.

Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament 2 is slated for a summer 2004 release.
