Ace Combat 5 ships to retail

October 25, 2004

Namco Hometek announced today that Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War, which is available exclusively for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, has shipped to North American retail outlets. The fifth installment in the Ace Combat series has been developed by Namco Limited in Japan.

"Prepare to take flight ACE COMBAT 5 is finally here," said Garry Cole, executive vice president at Namco Hometek Inc. "With a diverse offering of missions and fast-paced action spread across spectacular landscapes, Ace Combat 5 is destined to fly into the hearts of newcomers and long-time franchise fans this fall."

Not to be outdone by its predecessors, Ace Combat 5 offers more than 50 different licensed planes and a brand new storyline expanding over 30 missions. Other new features include "Wingman Command", which gives the player the ability to issue orders to his or her wingmen to coordinate attacks.
