PlayStation Plus Tops 7.9 Million Subscribers
Sony Computer Entertainment revealed that it has 7.9 million PlayStation Plus subscribers during a post-earnings conference call with investors today. In the past, the company has been vague about the number of members under the paid service.
Sony most likely saw a large jump in PS Plus subscribers this year, as it had made the service required to play most PlayStation 4 games online.
PS Plus members also benefit from a small selection of free PS4, PS3, and Vita games each month, discounts on games from the PlayStation Store, exclusive or priority access to game betas, and online cloud storage for their game save files.
The price of a PS Plus membership has remained consistent over the years, with a one month membership costing $10, 3 months priced at $18, and a full year of service at $50. Discounts for the yearly subscription can be found at various retail and online stores during Black Friday week this November.
